I'd never heard of Batra, so I went looking. Here's an interesting page from his web site.

He uses the term "Crisis Profiteering" - a pretty good meme, although it overlaps somewhat with Naomi Klein's "Shock Doctrine" and "Disaster Capitalism" (both of which should be written up and linked on the Memepolice, but I've been lazy).

I recently read "Shock Doctrine" - a great book. For now, use this link:
